Our Workout Playlist for September
To use an old cliché, Spring has finally sprung and we’re excited to see the sun show its happy face a little more often this September. This month, we’ve been mixing up some brand-spanking-new tunes with some old classics. Enjoy!
1. Ivy – Frank Ocean
Frank’s new album ‘Blonde’ is FINALLY here and we are loving it. Ivy is a beautiful tune with indie-rock style guitar that funnily enough reminds us of the ocean. A true-chill out song, this one’s great for a quick yoga practice or a cool down.
2. She Only Loves Me When I’m There – Ball Park Music
The energetic indie-rock outfit are much-loved by Australians who love a catchy beat and a sing-along. This cheeky track is so easy to bop to while doing some light cardio.
3. The Seed (2.0) – The Roots
A little rock with a little RnB, everyone remembers this one from 00s powerhouse, The Roots. THAT guitar riff is good for anything and everything.
4. Starboy – The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk
After his wild success in 2015, The Weeknd is back with a brand new single with dance legends Daft Punk. The vocals are the star of the show on this track. Pop it on during a long walk.
5. Tongue Tied – Grouplove
Released a few years ago now, this song is about the most fun you can have with a pair of headphones on. It’s full of energy and has huge sing-along potential. Perfect for a high-energy session!
6. Waste A Moment – Kings of Leon
This one is the first single from the upcoming seventh album, brought to you by the men who have never put a foot wrong. It’s pretty playful and still has those epic vocals and guitar riffs we’ve always loved. Another track that is perfect for any mood.
7. Jungle – Tash Sultana
This one is another brand-newy and we have fallen instantly in love with the vibes Tash is putting down. The first two minutes features mesmerising instrumentals before she hits us with that powerful, one-of-a-kind voice. Slow down and take it all in at the end of your session – the woman is ridiculously talented.
8. Sandstorm – Darude
Yes, you read correctly. Get your HIIT on.
9. Final Song – MØ
You’ve definitely heard the vocals of this Danish talent over the top of some fire Major Lazer last year and this single has quickly become crazy popular in 2016. It’s upbeat and heaps of fun, making it perfect for another high intensity workout or some sprints.
10. Monster – Kanye West It’s the iconic song from the man who needs to introduction, but it’s Nicki Minaj who we all know steals the show here. This one works best during some cycling, leaving enough breath to spit fire like Nicki when that verse hits.
