First Stop Coffee
When ever you head on an epic road trip, it's super important to stay fueled throughout your journey. We highly recommend making a pit stop in Geelong where you might be surprised to find the trendy cafe culture this regional city boasts. Our favourite "hipster" hangout is King of the Castle a quirky brunch hot spot set up in a giant shed with loads of natural light pouring in through the skylights. As award winners for best cafe and best coffee, you know you'll be able to pick up a delicious brew here (try their cold brew). A little friendly competition from the baristas at Freckleduck in Geelong's CBD who have developed a reputation for serving some of the best coffee in the city with locals and tourists swooning over their Crompton Road house blend and single origin offering.

It's Wine Time!
We're strong believers that life is about balance, and what better way to balance out an active day out in the surf than with wine tasting at a venue with a view to die for! You wouldn't necessarily think of the Surf Coast as a wine region, but it's unique climate and oceanic vistas make it the perfect spot for a cheeky wine in the sunshine. With a rich, diverse stable of award-winning, sophisticated cool climate wines Jack Rabbit Vineyard is sure to top the list with a great restaurant and cafe to match. Love a bit of sparkling? Leura Park Estate near the Bellarine coast creates wines that are 100% estate grown and predominantly hand picked and made in ‘methode traditionelle’ boasting a distinctive and delightful French-style subtlety. Plus on Sunday afternoons they host a live band!

Surfers Choice
Whether you spent a big day out on the surf or not, a craft beer or cider always goes down a treat! The Great Ocean Road is home to some pretty awesome brewers who are passionate about sharing their craft in their eclectic venues. One of our favourite brewery come restaurant in Torquay is Blackmans Brewery, which features brews with quirky names like Regional (IPA) that’ll “jump from the glass and fill your nostrils with every sip” or Ernie (Golden Ale) an “all rounder made with session-ability and Sinatra in mind.“ Can’t choose? Grab the tasting paddle with six choices which can feature their staple brews or limited releases. More of a cider kind of day? Well, Flying Brick Cider will be right up your ally. Their cider is naturally crafted using traditional methods and is made from 100% fresh fruit. Plus it’s free from added sugars, colours or concentrates making it all the more delicious and better for you.

Flying Brick Cider - 1251-1269 Bellarine Hwy, Wallington

Dining at its Finest
Heading to the Surf Coast for a special occasion or just looking for something a little bit fancy? What could be more perfect than a feast at The Shed at Terrindah Estate which boasts one of the most beautiful venues in regional Victoria. In 2013, they were named one of the top 5 Victorian regional restaurants to visit (by Tourism Victoria) making it the top of our hit list for a weekend on the Surf Coast. All items on the menu have been meticulously crafted to pair perfectly with wines from the estate to make your dining experience that little bit more special.
